Photos of the Blue Ridge Parkway
"America's Favorite Drive"
Scenes around the Parkway
469 miles connecting the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina to the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia.
Stunning views, plenty of hiking trails, picnic areas, campsites, and interpretative exhibits. Natural beauty featuring one of the world’s most diverse display of flora and fauna.
I'm starting to post my photos in the order of the BRP's mileposts. This will be an on-going project as I visit more and more sites.
Starting in NC from the South Entrance
Milepost 451 - Waterrock Knob
The second highest of all parkway peaks. Waterrock Knob has almost a 360 degree of several mountain ranges. It also has a visitor center and walking trails.
Milepost 422 - Devil's Courthouse
Milepost 176 - Mabry Mill
In VA, near the Rocky Knob Visitor Center
Ed Mabry built this mill in the early 20th century. He used this mill to grind cornmeal and to power a woodworking shop and saw wood into boards.
This site is one of the most picturesque spots on the parkway!
