I finally got to Chimney Rock this fall. It was at its peak color! This is the view from the Opera Box. You can see Lake Lure and the Hickory Nut Gorge area for miles and miles.

Just visited the place for the first time this week. A great little trip! Right now it’s peak color.

Look for lake and pond reflections this year…. when the wind is quiet, they are usually very pretty. This shot was from a small creek.

Autumn is early this year in North Carolina! If you want to see the mountains in color, make your plans earlier.
