Here’s the wide version of the Opera Box view. Beautiful view of the Hickory Nut Gorge!

When you enter the park, this is what you see. The rock with the American Flag flying on top.

I finally got to Chimney Rock this fall. It was at its peak color! This is the view from the Opera Box. You can see Lake Lure and the Hickory Nut Gorge area for miles and miles.

On Highway 52, they have an overlook that you can drive on to view Pilot Mountain from a distance. The mountain really does just peak out of nowhere!

Closely related to rays. They are considered endangered. They use their long snout to poke around for fish, attack schools of fish into bite size pieces.
